Welcome to the School of Life Sciences

We cover a wide spectrum of biological and medical sciences in both teaching and research. Expertise in the school spans molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, pharmacology, physiology, anatomy and zoology.

Our aim is to achieve excellence in education, both with our undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and with the major contributions we make to professional courses in medicine, pharmacy and dietetics.

We also have a substantial research portfolio and strive to achieve research excellence across this range.
